Thomas Gallagher Introduced as Connecticut Certified Personal Training Instructor

Tom GallagherW.I.T.S. would like to introduce Thomas Gallagher. We are excited to have such a tremendous Certified Personal Trainer & health educator work with the future fitness leaders of tomorrow.

Thomas Gallagher is a clinical exercise physiologist with over 34 years of work experience. Tom has worked primarily in the health wellness and hospital environments. His primary focus has been therapeutic exercise and fitness for both the well and the medically involved populations.

Tom graduated from East Stroudsburg University receiving both his Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Physical Education / Athletic Training and his Master’s degree is in Exercise Physiology / Cardiac Rehabilitation. He has been on the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Registrar for Clinical Exercise Physiology for the past 13 years and has worked as an adjunct Professor at Sacred Heart University, Norwalk Community College and Southern Connecticut State University. He has taught classes such as “Aspects of Strength and Conditioning”, Program and Prescription for Special Populations” and “First Aid and Sports Injuries”. In addition Tom has been a guest lecturer for many community organizations and has spoken at the 2010 Connecticut Occupational Therapy Association Symposium presenting on “Exercise and Cancer Survivorship”.

Tom has been involved with fall prevention programs in both the community and in a skilled nursing facility. His areas of interest are geriatric exercise, bariatric/weight loss exercise programing, personal training, cardiac risk factor management and post physical therapy exercise.

Gallagher will be teaching at the following W.I.T.S. locations in Connecticut:
