Arthritis is a disease that affects the joints. There are more than 100 types of arthritis and related conditions. People of all ages, races, sexes have arthritis and it is
the #1 cause of disability in the United States. We as Fitness Professionals need to understand how to safely and effectively work with our clients who have arthritis. In this 1 CEC webinar we will define arthritis and it’s specific types. We will discuss the benefits of exercise and how we can help our clients stay
functional. We will discuss specific guidelines for cardiovascular exercise, muscular fitness and flexibility. Specific fitness equipment will be discussed that is user friendly and affordable. We will learn about specific exercise programs designed for people with arthritis.
