Actions Conquer Tragedy
How Fitness Self Defense Allows Your Growth & Your Community Safety

The Reagan Delaney Tokes Memorial Foundation continues its work to support the foundation mission-to make a positive difference from a tragic Event-Actions Conquer Tragedy.
The foundation just posted their results for the Rally for Reagan 5k Run/Walk event, which occurred at Scioto Grove Metro Park on October 26, 2025. The race concluded with a time of meditation and reflection in the garden, which was specifically created, designed and named as part of Reagan’s legacy. This garden was a way for her family to transition the space where she lost her life, which was cold, dark, and foreboding, into a peaceful and tranquil space that faces the sunrise and encompasses multiple elements that were special to Reagan. She and her family spent countless enjoyable hours at Metro Parks throughout the State of Ohio so changing the feel and energy of this location was important to them. Others can spend time in Reagan’s Garden year-round, and it was the perfect space to conclude the event. The arial view of the garden resembles an Angel with outstretched wings.
This specific event generated $16,300 and those funds will be combined with other direct contributions to award new students, who will be submitting applications this spring for 2026 selections. Another installment will be sent to the endowment fund at Ohio State University, which supports multiple students every calendar year also. Since inception of the foundation, $525,000 in scholarships have been awarded to date. Expansion of the scholarship program is being thoughtfully considered by the board for 2026. The support network continues to broaden, and so should the recipient areas.
Work also continues to support legislative efforts to reintroduce a bill that will allow for ankle monitoring in real time in the state of Ohio. The bill, which will be known as The Reagan Tokes/Patrick Heringer Act, is to be introduced by the end of January, by Representative Cindy Abrams. Lisa McCrary-Tokes will travel to Ohio to provide proponent testimony before both the Ohio House and Senate in support of the bill.
