Session Description: Attendees will learn about the effects of sleep deprivation, how technology, stress, and illness can impact sleep, examine the stages of sleep and associated physiological processes, and review recommendations on how to improve sleep quality
Learning Outcomes: After attending this webinar, participants will be able to:
1. Adopt and provide recommendations related to improving sleep quality.
2. Explicate the role of sleep, physiological processes associated with each stage of sleep, and how sleep is linked to health and performance.
3. Understand how technology, stress, and illness can adversely impact sleep.
Presenter Bio: Joe Giandonato, MBA, MS, CSCS has been a WITS faculty member since 2010. Giandonato presently serves as an Employee Well-being Coordinator at the University of Virginia while investigating the correlation between physical activity and academic performance for his dissertation
